My Wrist

Last year I did too much scrubbing and I think I damaged my wrist.  Keith gave me a wrist brace to wear which helped a lot.  But I find that my wrist is much more vulnerable now.  So I was rearranging an area of my basement/family room, and now my wrist is hurting again, so I'm using the brace - again.

So I went to see my lawyer today, and he said, "So, now that you are limited to what you can blog about, did you resort to expressing your frustrations by hitting walls now?"  LOL

I said, "Don't worry, I haven't stopped blogging just because my ex might read it.  Sure, I'll perhaps consider what I write, but I refuse to be censored."  :)

Case Conference

Case conference today. The ex found my blog! Hah! So some of my "Dear Ex-Husband" rants are now included in the court documents. Well, now there is a record of some of his more negative behaviors.

It's kind of funny that he would shoot himself in the foot like that! But I guess if the goal is to sling mud then a person maybe doesn't think about the implications of said mud slinging.

Oops...

Oh... "hi" to the supposed "friend" who alerted him to this blog. Personally, I think he's probably just stalking me to find more mud he can sling at me. Really, there's gotta be other things besides me he'd rather focus on, right?

One would hope so!

So stay tuned for "revisions" to some of my "Dear Ex-husband" blogs. It's not gonna happen this weekend though... I have better things to do! My goal is to seek peace where it may be found, so I'll make some amendments perhaps. I have no desire to intentionally defame anyone publicly. (If you wait long enough, they usually do it to themselves anyways). My goal is to maintain peace (as far as i am able) and part of that is to have a place to vent. This is that place. I seek professional counseling when necessary, but those people aren't always available at midnight when you things are swirling in your head for whatever reason. I use this blog to release it to God, to the universe, and just get it "out there" so it's not inside anymore, where it can fester. That's not healthy for anyone.

And... If its really the kids he's concerned about, then he should have contacted me ASAP. But only bringing his concerns to my attention through court documents right before a case conference tells me that this is just a pathetic attempt to sling mud at me.

So whatever... Sling away buddy. Keep focusing on me and you'll never move forward in your own life.

Dear Ex-Husband

I sometimes express myself here so that I DON'T say anything to the kids. Do what you want with what you've found here. I don't care. I am an exemplary mother, and you'll never be able to prove otherwise. *Content altered in the interest of peace*

Wringer washer in action...

    

 



Yeah baby!  Got my new 50's style laundry system.  Works great!  Yes, it's more work, BUT my clothes are CLEANER and FRESHER smelling than using the front loading HE machine.  Wow.

I have a video of my daughter and I doing laundry together, but heck, I can't get it to upload from my iphone.... so annoying.  Apparently I need iTunes pro or something... those fuckers!

To replace the bearing in the front load washer - over $300.  The pump is now sounding like gravel is in there, that can't be good... and who knows how much it would be to replace THAT.  Plus I have already replaced the shocks and the springs.  Fuck it.

A new machine that has the ability to last (hopefully) would cost me about $800.

This Wringer Washer cost me $100.  They threw in a small top loading automatic for $40.  When I was explaining to the people how to wash clothes in the wringer, I mentioned that I just needed a big sink or washtub to do it.  They said, "Like this?" and showed me the double antique galvanized steel sink.  They didn't know what they would do with it, so they threw it in for nothing.  Man, I lucked out!

So I did 7 loads of laundry yesterday.  My daughter helped me for 3 of the loads, and we had such fun doing it.  But what I'm also loving, is the fact that the clothes are so clean and fresh.  Seriously, my son has these black t-shirts that you can't bleach for obvious reasons, but many of them had this bad smell that I tried everything to get them out.  Yes, even THEY are smelling fresh.  :)

Washing Machine

A few years back now... probably around 2002 or 2003, when the new HE washers were new on the market, at least it seemed so to me at the time, we bought one. It's a GE washer and it looks like this:

Now, I know this says Kenmore, but the fact is that the SAME washer is manufactured under several different names. It's weird, cuz if you buy new springs for it under one name, it can be twice the price than what you can get them for under another name, yet its the SAME part. *shakes head* I hate being gouged like that! Well, thankfully, my hunny knows all the details about that so that helps me. :D

Anyways, so this machine is konking out on me now. I've replaced the shocks once, and the springs. Now the bearing on the back of the drum is done. It's like a freight train going through here when it spins. But.... it still works, so no crisis yet...

I really did love this machine for many reasons. But after talking to my boyfriend, who was in the appliance business for years and knows the ins and outs of these things, which is basically exactly what this guy says in the video... I've decided that rather than spend my hard earned money on a NEW version of the same disappointing CRAP..... I'm gonna go OLD SCHOOL!

That's right... I want to get a RINGER WASHER! :D

There is a reason that this type of machine has lasted over 50+ years....

Not only that, but they actually get your clothes cleaner with less wear and tear. Just be careful you don't get your fingers caught in the rollers.... hehe

Will update you on the pursuit of the second hand ringer washer. I have contacted the sellers.... am waiting to hear back. :D

Admirable women....

You gotta admire a woman like Betty White. She just turned 90, yet she remains relevant, current, and hilariously funny. She is proof that people can continue to have a vibrant and rich life. She's also quite edgy in her humour, which I love! :D
